The Victoria Judo Club
The Victoria Judo Club is a non-profit organization in continuous operation since 1957. The club's goal is to provide high quality instruction in a safe environment for children, youth and adults to learn a martial art that is practiced around the world. Our instructors are all volunteers and bring the commitment and passion that comes from a lifelong dedication to the sport.

Judo BC Registration
The 2012-2013 season begins on September 5 for seniors. Juniors begin September 17.
All members of the Victoria Judo Club must download and complete the Judo BC Individual Membership Registration Form for the start of the season. The form should be filled in online and e-mailed to The Victoria Judo Club. A printed copy must then be signed and handed in.
Lucas Twins medal in Junior Nationals
Crystal and George Lucas both medalled at the Canadian Junior Nationals held in St. Iles, Quebec - July 1 to 3, 2011. Crystal won bronze in the women's U17 -63kg division and George won silver in the men's U17 -60kg division.
Tim Rees fights at London 2012 Paralympic Games
Tim Rees fought in the -100 kg category at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Competition in his division starts Saturday, September 1 - 3:00 AM Pacific Time. Complete results are posted at: Paralympic Judo
George Lucas in Kiev
George Lucas qualified to fight in U17 World Championships in Kiev, Ukraine. He won two of three matches in a fight-off following the Junior Nationals to secure a berth in the -60kg division for the U17 World Judo Championships in Kiev, Ukraine - August 11 to 14, 2011. His results in Kiev were not as successful. After gaining a bye in the first round, he lost by a yuko on penalties against an opponent from Portugal. The experience of his first international competition was valuable, as was the national team training camp where he got to work with the national team coaches.
Inouye Sensei Promoted to 9th Dan
The Victoria Judo Club's head sensei, Yeiji Inouye, was honoured on March 21st when he was presented with his 9th degree black belt. He is the only person in Canada to hold this rank. Mr. Inouye has had a long and distinguished career as a competitor and international referee, and has served as a member of Judo Canada.
